Removing the smaller diameter trees, which act as fuel for wildfires, provides adequate space for the larger ponderosa pines to thrive and grow approximately 300% faster.*
Future Forest proudly oversees the White Mountain Stewardship Project for Arizona’s Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. We manage the thinning of approximately 5,000—25,000 acres of forest per year, and are committed to sustaining natural, resilient woodlands and protecting surrounding communities.
Uniting with the National Forest Service, it is our goal to restore forests to more natural densities, reduce the threat of wildfires, and develop new viable local markets for wood residue.
